Makoto Restaurant

"Makoto" is a unique gastronomic Japanese restaurant in Moscow. The menu includes appetizers, fish, meat, sushi, sashimi, Japanese sandwiches and rare species of Japanese fish. There is an oyster bar which in addition to oysters has a large selection of live seafood which is updated every week.

Japanese food is everywhere now, still, it can’t be found anywhere. Those who have been in the Land of the Rising Sun know that what we eat here is not Japanese cuisine, or at best, only a small part of it. However, there is a place in Moscow where you can enjoy the real taste of Japan – this place is restaurant "Makoto" located in the World Trade Center. Products are brought here from the Tokyo market, and the kitchen is supervised by the Japanese chef Munechika Ban.

The main secret of authentic Japanese cuisine is fish and seafood of exceptional freshness and quality. To "Makoto" they are delivered directly from Tokyo's Tsukiji Fish Market. Many ingredients come alive to the kitchen: in the center of the hall there is a large aquarium with king crabs, lobsters, sea urchins, scallops and oysters brought from the Far East and the best European sea farms.

The main part of the menu of "Makoto" is classical Japanese dishes many of which are almost unknown in Russia. Marbled pork chops, Japanese pizza "Okonomi yaki", shark fin soup or traditional Japanese snacks "izake" that are traditionally served in beer restaurants: chicken sausages dressed with special sauces ("tori tsukune yaki") or raw squid stuffed with its own liver (exceptional snack for beer!). A separate page is devoted to ramen noodles, the most traditional option is miso ramen with seafood.

A special pride of the restaurant "Makoto" is the dishes made of rare species of seafood and fish: menuke, red grouper, kinki, halibut, flounder (the range varies according to the season). Yet here you can taste the horsehair crab whose liver is considered to be one of Japan's major delicacies. There are often special offers and discounts on oysters, scallops and other seafood. In the afternoon "Makoto" serves dinner sets with meat, rice, tempura or poached fish with soy sauce plus a traditional Japanese dessert.

In the bar list, apart from the usual drinks, you can find Japanese whiskey, Japanese beer, avamori, shochu and a huge selection of sake - sparkling and table, hot and cold, dry and sweet, strong and light. Cocktail menu for "Makoto" has been made by the famous mixologist Alexander Kan. The highlight of many cocktails is Japanese citrus yuzu juice.

“Makoto” is decorated in Japanese-like graceful and restrained style. Light wood looks advantageously in combination with pale olive green sofas. Ethnic themes are presented by traditional porcelain vases and oak lattice with Japanese ornament separating the tables from each other. The main hall is divided into three zones. For business negotiations there is a separate room decorated with handmade plate with the image of the god of wind and thunder - Fujin.
